A Fiver Too Far?

Kos says:
I’ll say this much — at $9.99, I’ve been buying far more books on impulse for my Kindle than I would at $15, which takes the purchase out of the realm of “impulse buy.” I currently have about 15-20 unread books on my Kindle, even though I’m currently averaging about a book read per week. If I see something even mildly interesting, I add it to the Kindle. If publishers raise prices much further, I’ll be far less likely to add more books until I drain my queue, and afterward, I’ll be much pickier in what I buy.
I absolutely agree. I bought Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter on a whim this week, simply because it was ten bucks. Sort of relatedly, I bought 2 games (Perfect Dark for the XBLA and Peggle for PSN) this week, because they were $10, but hesitated on Fat Princess, which is $15. For some reason, $10 is much more easy to swallow to me than only paying five bucks more. I would be willing to bet most people feel the same way. Thoughts?
I wonder if there’s a connection

Rachel Maddow gives Meet the Press its highest ratings in nearly a year. I wonder how they could repeat that sort of success. It’s a mystery.
Et tu, Dog the Bounty Hunter?

Republicans think that an open debate of healthcare policy, televised nationally, is a trap.

Hey, Boehner. Tuck your vagina back in, it’s leaking all over the place.
Good Lord. In literally every other civilized nation on the planet, these idiots would be laughed out of their jobs. This kind of crap would never fly in Britain, France, Canada (i.e. Socialist Paradise). I don’t understand.
Sniffles.

This jackass won the Late Night Wars not once, but twice. NBC’s shareholders should stage a coup on Zucker.
Naturally there was not a single memorable moment from the entire show just as there is not a single memorable moment from the entire history of Jay Leno’s hosting of the Tonight Show, because Jay Leno is a mediocre unfunny clown who feels that comedy should be like an inoffensive, half-finished word puzzle at the back of a children’s magazine. “Oh, I get how this works, and this does not challenge me in the lease. It doesn’t even make me think!” But, like, if you don’t have any memorable moments, you could at least make not-the-worst jokes? Just kidding, no you can’t. And that Donald Trump thing at the end actually makes me MAD. Enough with the pretending that you got fired, Jay Leno. It is literally sickening. We are living through one of the worst economic climates in generations with people actually struggling to find work and hold onto their homes, and you have a multi-billion dollar corporation that has staked all of its chips on you, for better or for worse, and still you are pretending like you are a down-on-your-luck Skid Row resident who never thought it would all go up in a puff of smoke. GO FUCK YOURSELF, FOR REAL.
We have it tough.

Man, when did Chuck Todd become a spineless tool? During the 2008 election, he was actually my favorite politico. He seemed to know what was going on, had reasonable rationales for his predictions, and seemed to kind of be above it all. But as soon as he got promoted to White House correspondent, he became a Beltway insider almost over night. Now he’s running interference for an obvious stupid thing Palin did.

She had a cheat sheet on her hand.

She even looked down and read off it during an incredibly simple question. Jesus Christ.
